A licensed REALTOR in the state of Missouri, Hayes has routinely stood out since coming into the profession as a caring, hard-working professional. He has been typically ranked in the top 10% of agents in Mid-Missouri and has enjoyed enormous success working specifically in home sales at all price ranges.
Hayes has also worked in commercial real estate sales. Notably, he oversaw the sale of the former Hitching Post in Hartsburg and the well-known Columbia hotspot, the Deuce Pub & Pit.
Hayes is a graduate of the University of Missouri at Columbia from the Journalism School with a Bachelors degree. Hayes was involved in media sales for years prior to real estate and has a distinct edge as an agent marketing your home when it comes to marketing ability. He has furthered that edge by living by a slogan in his practice of "I Call Back." One of the most frustrating things he saw that a client could have to deal with was an agent that wouldn't return calls.
"Buying or selling a home is easily one of the most important financial transactions you will likely ever undertake in your life-- but I have been been able to make it far less stressful for people I work with by making it easy for them to understand. There is no reason real estate has to be confusing and my job is to make it simple for my customers. Staying in contact by returning phone calls and reaching out to them is all part of that."
Hayes served in the United States Army in the Armored Cavalry, stationed at Fulda, West Germany with the 11th Armored Cavalry. While there, he served as a crew member on various armored vehicles, was awarded his Air Assault wings (obtained by rapelling out of helicopters, among other skills) and was selected for an all-NATO athletic squad to compete at an international competition in Europe. Hayes also had the distinction of being out on patrol in West Germany the night the infamous Berlin Wall came down. "We were running through the woods in full combat gear. It was the middle of the night. We made it to the next point and were getting the map for the next point. The sergeant in the vehicle turned around and told us the Wall had fallen. The funny part about the story is we thought he meant a wall back at the post we were stationed at and he was telling us because we were going to have put it back up in the middle of the night! 'No', he insisted, 'the Berlin Wall'. Nobody would believe him at first, but he turned around, turned on the radio and they were announcing it on all stations. It was a moment I'll never forget."
Hayes is proud to call Missouri his home and to be raising his family here. His wife Lisa works as a registered Nurse and they have three absolutely wonderful children who are Holly, Brett and Chase.
The Code establishes time-honored and baseline principles that come from the collective experiences of REALTORS® since the Code of Ethics was first established in 1913. Those principles can be loosely defined as:
Loyalty to clients;
Fiduciary (legal) duty to clients;
Cooperation with competitors;
Truthfulness in statements and advertising;
and non-interference in exclusive relationships that other REALTORS® have with their clients.
